Any suggestions would be appreciated. When I try to refresh the dashboard I get the following error: "A general SOAP exception has occurred. I reviewed the details in and made changes as suggested here but still not working I changed the identity settings of the webservice (but without any success). I ran a trace on the sql server while trying to connect to the performancepoint server and I did not see anything in profiler when trying to connect Connecting to the SQL Server from the performancepoint machine (I was able to connect) I checked all the possibilities that I could think of including: I am able to configure PerformancePoint without a problem but when I open the dashboard designer and go to options and try to connect to the server I get the following error: "Unable to connect to server" That same user is also used to run the webservices for PerformancePoint (all 3 of them). The user that I used for the installation is a domain user that has admin rights on both machines and is sa on the SQL Server.
The SQL Server performancepoint database is on a different machine (64bit windows 2003 server). I have installed performancepoint on a 32Bit Windows 2003 server virtual machine that is part of a domain.
